Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a fantastic week so far. Only two more days till Friday! Hang in there.
Today I would like to talk about a restaurant I visit frequently. Actually almost every Tuesday. I’ll explain why Tuesdays later on in the post. Anywhoo the restaurant I would like to go over is one many of you may know about or have seen before but never really had the urge to visit. That Restaurant is Old Chicago which is located on 2251 45th St S in Fargo.
Atmosphere – 4/ 5
When walking up to Old Chicago you notice that there is an outside eating area, something many sit down restaurants have adopted in the area. This however is only practical in the summer. So if your going to Old Chicago in the Winter expect to be sitting inside. The OC, as me and my friends like to call it, has TV’s hanging about but there isn’t an overwhelming amount but just enough, each displaying different sports events going on. You have the choice to go to the bar area or the main seating area which has an array of comfortable booths and tables. Its actually laid out quite nice. I have only been to Old Chicago at night and never during the day so the lights are always dimmed, but next to each booth they have a little candle light which is pretty neat and adds a nice touch. The walls contain posters describing some of the things they serve as well as posters referencing the history of Old Chicago and history of Fargo as well. Over all the atmosphere will appeal to those who are 18 and older.
Service – 3/5
Service for the OC is a hit and miss subject. Usually when I go we get our food and drinks in less than five minutes. But one time it took 15 minutes for someone to come take our order and another 30 minutes to get our food. Now I have only had that happen once but it was a very unpleasant situation. Other than that all the servers are very friendly and helpful and you are always greeted and seated swiftly once you enter the door. They also make sure to thank you for coming as you leave.
Variety – 5/ 5
The OC has a wide variety of food and drink to offer. There main focus in the food department is pizza but they also have other things such as pasta, burgers, and a array of appetizers that would strike anyone’s fancy. The OC is also famous for the World Beer Tour in which you can participate in tasting a different beer out of the 110 beers they offer from around the world. Anyone would be able to find something they would enjoy at the OC.
Taste – 5/5
Truthfully I have only had pizza at Old Chicago. But on that note it is the best pizza I have ever had and many of the people that have went with me to Old Chicago and got pizza agreed. Also there beer is always goes down smooth and never tastes old or flat. Plus the selection makes sure they sooth anyone’s pallet.
Overview
Now I always visit the OC on Tuesdays, as I suggest everyone does, because they have a promo every Tuesday from 8:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. were pizza slices are only $1 and a mug of beer is $2.10. Now if you get four slices of their Chicago style pizza it ends up being about a half of a large pizza for $4. Not only that but if you get the four slices of pizza and a mug a beer your getting a full meal plus a beer for roughly $6.50 after taxes. Now I don’t know about you guys but that sound like a great deal to me and a great deal for any college student.
Whelp that’s it for me today. Hopefully you enjoyed my brief overview of Old Chicago and maybe I’ll see you there next Tuesday. Also be sure to click on the links at the beginning if you need directions to the OC or if you would just like a little more information. Until next time.
