Erberts and gerberts

HELLO….BLOGGERS!

I ate out at Erbs and Gerbs (that’s what the locals call it :P). That place is very yummy. The idea behind the name is that a dad made up all of these stories about Erbert and Gerbert in far off lands doing heroic things. The sandwiches are named after people they meet in their quests.

Atmosphere -3

It is a fast food restaurant, so it is set up for quick and easy access to the food and drink.  The employees are working hard to get your food out to you. Eating in the restaurant is a fun time, because they have lots of the stories about the sandwiches posted. (The tales that the sandwich names are based off of)

Service-4

When you order what you want they are really nice to you. They personalize your order by asking for your name so they can call you by name when your order is done. It is better than being a number.

Variety-4

They definitely have a lot of choices and price ranges. They have something that everyone would be able to eat, even vegetarian options. They have yummy soup too! If you want you can add chips or cookies to your meal.

Taste-5

The food is yummy. My favorite thing to get is “Haley’s comet” and broccoli cheese soup.

If you are feeling a sub, stop in there. It’s pretty good quality.

See you soon!

The Wednesday Questionnaire

Hello everybody, I hope your having a fabulous last week of September. I would like to thank everyone who is currently tuning into our blog, and also encourage them to tell their friends, family, or maybe even your cousins-uncles-brothers-wife about us. Either way, we greatly appreciate everyone’s support and we will continue to do our best to put out quality posts and reviews. But sadly today I won’t be reviewing a local restaurant, but instead reaching out to all of you for comments and suggestions on how to make our blog better and more enjoyable for you guys! Here are a few questions you could maybe answer for us.

Is their and restaurants that you would like us to specifically review?

How is our blog setup? (design, text colors, background, layout, etc)

Would you like to know a little about our blog writers? (AKA Justin and Jana)

What would you like to see more of in terms of our reviews?

Also any other thoughts or suggestions would be awesome!

And again, thank you all for tuning into the FM Food Blog.

Tutti Frutti

Nothing seems to be trending faster than frozen yogurt, and once you’ve had it you understand why… it is amazing. So I hit up the tutti frutti on 13th in Fargo.

Atmosphere 4

I really like the furniture there. It’s very colorful and comfy, and conveniently for them it looks like it’s pretty easy to clean if someone spills there froyo on it 😛 They have entered the 21st century because they have a big screen displaying all of there facts and use colorful shots of fruit to do that. Tutti Frutti also lets you sample their variety of flavors before you decide what flavor you are going to get, which is super helpful when they had really odd flavors that you need to try to believe how accurate the taste is to the real thing.

Service-2

Tutti Frutti is brilliant because they have come up with a great way to serve their froyo…. making you do it yourself. When I first went to tutti frutti, I thought it was a brilliant concept, serving yourself exactly how much you wanted and then pay per ounce. Now I think that it’s brilliant for a totally different reason. Now I realize that the staff has a totally easy job, they just have to refill and run the register. Brilliant, but that’s also why they are getting a low score in service…because they really don’t serve you at all.

Variety-5

Tutti Frutti has tons of variety in their products. Everyday they change what flavors they have available, so there is something new to taste every time you stop into their shop.

Taste-5

I love the taste of their froyo. Other people seem to agree just because they seem to be popping up all over the FM area. My favorite is Original Tart and I put fruit on top. Try it, it is the best. Plus they have it everyday, so you don’t have to worry about it not being there. 🙂

Tell me about your favorite froyo flavor! (comment below)

See you soon!

Instead of tacos on Tuesdays one should consider pizza.

Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a fantastic week so far. Only two more days till Friday! Hang in there.

Today I would like to talk about a restaurant I visit frequently. Actually almost every Tuesday. I’ll explain why Tuesdays later on in the post. Anywhoo the restaurant I would like to go over is one many of you may know about or have seen before but never really had the urge to visit. That Restaurant is Old Chicago which is located on 2251 45th St S in Fargo.

Atmosphere – 4/ 5

When walking up to Old Chicago you notice that there is an outside eating area, something many sit down restaurants have adopted in the area. This however is only practical in the summer. So if your going to Old Chicago in the Winter expect to be sitting inside. The OC, as me and my friends like to call it, has TV’s hanging about but there isn’t an overwhelming amount but just enough, each displaying different sports events going on. You have the choice to go to the bar area or the main seating area which has an array of comfortable booths and tables. Its actually laid out quite nice. I have only been to Old Chicago at night and never during the day so the lights are always dimmed, but next to each booth they have a little candle light which is pretty neat and adds a nice touch. The walls contain posters describing some of the things they serve as well as posters referencing the history of Old Chicago and history of Fargo as well. Over all the atmosphere will appeal to those who are 18 and older.

Service – 3/5

Service for the OC is a hit and miss subject. Usually when I go we get our food and drinks in less than five minutes. But one time it took 15 minutes for someone to come take our order and another 30 minutes to get our food. Now I have only had that happen once but it was a very unpleasant situation. Other than that all the servers are very friendly and helpful and you are always greeted and seated swiftly once you enter the door. They also make sure to thank you for coming as you leave.

Variety – 5/ 5

The OC has a wide variety of food and drink to offer. There main focus in the food department is pizza but they also have other things such as pasta, burgers, and a array of appetizers that would strike anyone’s fancy. The OC is also famous for the World Beer Tour in which you can participate in tasting a different beer out of the 110 beers they offer from around the world. Anyone would be able to find something they would enjoy at the OC.

Taste – 5/5

Truthfully I have only had pizza at Old Chicago. But on that note it is the best pizza I have ever had and many of the people that have went with me to Old Chicago and got pizza agreed. Also there beer is always goes down smooth and never tastes old or flat. Plus the selection makes sure they sooth anyone’s pallet.

Overview

Now I always visit the OC on Tuesdays, as I suggest everyone does, because they have a promo every Tuesday from 8:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. were pizza slices are only $1 and a mug of beer is $2.10. Now if you get four slices of their Chicago style pizza it ends up being about a half of a large pizza for $4. Not only that but if you get the four slices of pizza and a mug a beer your getting a full meal plus a beer for roughly $6.50 after taxes. Now I don’t know about you guys but that sound like a great deal to me and a great deal for any college student.

Whelp that’s it for me today. Hopefully you enjoyed my brief overview of Old Chicago and maybe I’ll see you there next Tuesday. Also be sure to click on the links at the beginning if you need directions to the OC or if you would just like a little more information. Until next time.

Cold Stone……

Hello everyone,

I know Justin wanted us to talk about lesser known places in Fargo-Moorhead, but this is just when I have been lately. I like ice cream, so sue me. I decided it was time to write a blog post about my experience with Cold Stone

Atmosphere-3

As much as i love ice cream, having people generically yell “welcome to cold stone” as they are making their ice cream mixes for customers isn’t very appetizing to me. The creamery is clean and that is very appreciated.

Service-4

One thing that was oddly exciting for me is the fact that they were using both sides of there ice cream bar. Usually when I go there they only use one side, that was pretty cool to see. They produced the ice cream at a satisfactory fate.

Variety-4

They have many different types of ice cream there. If you want a smoothie, they have smoothies. If you want Fro Yo, they have fro yo. They have things for people who want to eat healthier, and people who want triple chocolate surprise. (not an actual flavor, but you get the idea :P)

Taste-4

You will find that I’m really boring and when I find something I like at a restaurant then I usually will order that for the rest of my life. So I ordered “cookie don’t you want some,” it has carmel, fudge, cookie dough, and ice cream. I think there were some new people working that day because my cookie dough chunk was in two huge pieces. I mean it still tasted nice, but it could have been better.

I love ice cream. Tell me your favorite ice cream flavor 🙂 (leave me a comment)

until next time…

Sept 16th—-Olive Garden

Hello everyone!

On Sept 16th, I ventured to the olive garden. It was a Sunday, and we went at 5 p.m.

Atmosphere-5

When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised because we were able to walk right in and were seated right away.  I even commented on it to the host who was very friendly and talked about how it was NFL Sunday. It was awesome how he was warm and welcoming.

Service-5

My server’s name was Kelly, and she was super nice. One thing that I noticed about the Olive Garden, is that they always bring you an odd amount of breadsticks. For example there was two of us that when, and she brought us three sticks. It’s just an oddball thing about the OG. I wonder if they have a policy about that. Either way, I’m really happy that they give you free bread sticks. Kelly was very prompt about asking for our order, and getting us our drinks.

Variety-3

For an Italian restaurant I think that they have something that everyone will like. I do think they have a lot of pasta, but that is kind of expected of them.

Taste- 4

My favorite food to get at the OG is Chicken Alfredo. It was really yummy. There was a good ratio of chicken to pasta. I also enjoyed the free salad and breadsticks! (I love bread, you will learn that throughout my blog posts :))

I always enjoy my meals at the Olive Garden.

Until next time…
